Your Life is Sacred

Separation of Church and State was a concept for building a government that was harder to corrupt and wouldn’t claim to have the authority of God. Even though it was founded in Biblical principals and the 10 commandments were woven into the constitution, it was secular.

But that’s for government, NOT for Christians.

We have been redeemed by the sacrifice of Christ, we belong to the kingdom of God not this world. Our culture tells us that we should BE secular when we are at work or doing “public” things and that our faith is only appropriate in church or in private - and should never affect how we treat those who disagree with us. But God says we are “not of this world” and shouldn’t act like we are.

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans‬ ‭12:2‬ ‭

Our lives are sacred, valuable and set apart by God. He has called us to a purpose and has plans to prosper us and give us a good future because He loves us. We are to live in a way that pleases God, not other people - we want others to see that we’re different, that we have something special that they don’t have. We must love them like Jesus loves us. That doesn’t mean we are to be zealots at work, just that we aren’t unrecognizable as a Christian...
