I think most of us think we walk in the light and have true fellowship with other believers. But, what does it really mean to do this?
Have you ever dealt with, or seen a child who thinks they are getting away with taking a cookie or candy, but has crumbs on their shirt? When you ask them about it, they play dumb or deny it? This is walking in darkness. The difference for us is that God knows everything. We lie to ourselves and to others who are trying to have fellowship with us when we won’t admit the stuff we’re ashamed of to our own self - and when we try to justify or excuse it rather than confess and repent. We are only human and we are going to fail.
