The truth. Not “my truth” or “your truth,” but THE truth is what the Bible teaches us. It is not dependent on our opinion or popularity or culture - it transcends it all. The truth existed in the beginning and was the Word. The truth created all thing that are seen and unseen and He knows all things - ALL things. We don’t.
The only way we can know the truth and be set free is to know, love and follow Jesus. We don’t get to be the leader in this relationship. When we try to set the agenda we stop following - and this leads to bondage not freedom. That’s the big deal!
What our culture sees as freedom is really sin, and sin always puts us in bondage. Some is worse than others, but it’s all bad. Addiction to food is still addiction. Sex outside of marriage is still fornication. Lying is still lying, even if you’re only doing it to yourself and the truth is still the truth, even if you don’t accept or believe it.
