Through God’s Eyes

“By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John‬ ‭13:35‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Love is the answer to many of our questions. But it’s often difficult to respond in love, so we search for another way.

Should I help that person? Probably - seek God about a way to help that pleases Him. It can be as simple as a cool drink of water and a prayer or more complex like mentoring someone and building a relationship. But it’s never wrong to show love even to the guy on the street corner.

Should I forgive? Yes, always. You don’t have to trust someone to forgive them and the other person doesn’t have to apologize or deserve it either. We forgive because we’ve been forgiven and Jesus taught us to always choose forgiveness.

Responding in love is sometimes more difficult when it’s with someone who is close to us who has hurt or betrayed us in the past. Seeing them through God’s eyes and from His perspective helps a lot but requires you to look past the offense with grace.

Who will you see though God’s eyes today?
