The Suffering Part
We have a good Father who loves us and will restore us. We lean on and rely on Him and His grace and hope for this restoration... but there is more to this verse:
“And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.” 1 Peter 5:10
None of us want to hear the part about us suffering. But Jesus assures is that we would but to keep our eyes on Him because He has overcome the troubles of the world. When we’re suffering or grieving, we tend to become self-centered. Why? ...or Why not? we ask God. The answer is in His word, but we don’t necessarily “like” it.
His ways are above our ways.
He sees the end from the beginning and the beginning from the end.
We see in part but God sees the whole.
The death of His faithful servants is precious to God.
We are called to follow Christ’s example - even to suffering.
I’ll stop there, but there is a lot more. But then He will restore and strengthen you. The blessing often shows up in the midst of the trial - so look up and seek God in it, even if through tears. Trust Him and follow Him and everything will be alright. #trustinthelord #faith #childofgod #goodgoodfather #steadfastlove #sufferingforjesus #shalom #yourjourneytobeingwhole #dailydevotional
