How often do we recognize a spiritual attack, and pray for protection? This is good and right - Jesus taught us to pray that our Father God would not lead us into temptation but would deliver us from evil.
However, before that part, Jesus taught us to submit to God “Hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” This is putting God’s will and purpose above our own. Yes, we should pray that our needs be met, but that is after what is necessary for God’s will.
