Speak Life

Words have immense power and we fling them around carelessly without considering the consequences. God created all that is seen and unseen with His words. We learn that our words have the power to steer our lives and those of others in James chapter 3.

Jesus told us that “For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” Matthew‬ ‭12:37‬

I bear deep wounds from things that were said to me, and I bet most of you do too. I beg you not to inflict the same harm in someone else - let your words be words of life, encouraging and building up people, rather than tearing them down (even if you thing they deserve it). I’m also going to point out that although sarcasm is considered humor by many, it means to tear flesh or convey contempt - it can be very damaging to a human heart.

Your words can attract or repel...and you are the only one who can control them. Remember, the Holy Spirit lives in you and will help you with self-control. ‭
