There are many verses in the Bible warning us about pride, especially in Proverbs.
“Pride leads to disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.”
Proverbs 11:2
When we accomplish something, especially if it took hard work, grit and determination, we are proud of ourselves. But if we don’t see that we are blessed by God and that He could have allowed any number of things to thwart our progress, we miss the big picture. We are children of God. Everything we have is from Him - even the stuff we work hard for. The minute we stop acknowledging that is when pride can become a problem. True humility is recognizing your place. If God has made you a leader or a teacher, then humility means that you lead or teach with confidence knowing that God has equipped you and gives you opportunities to learn more and grow.
The minute we stop learning and growing and seeking wisdom is when we think we have all we need in our own... this is pride too... don’t fall!
