Jesus’ Prayer for You

If you’ve known me for long, then you know this is a theme for me, my life and my ministry. There is a song that I love and memorized when I was 6 years old about it - this has been my heart since then. The song talks about Christians being one in the Spirit and one in the Lord, working and socializing with each other, and others will know we are Christians just by the way we love other people.

It sounds impossible in today’s church in today’s world. All kinds of division has invaded the church and it’s terrible. We aren’t treating others with respect if they disagree with our opinion. This is not the example set by Christ, nor is it what He teaches us in His word. In fact, in Jesus’s last and longest recorded prayer, He says:

“I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me. I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one. I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me.” John‬ ‭17:20-23‬ ‭

Do others recognize Christ in you by how you treat them?
