We all know someone who thinks more highly of themselves than they should. Who doesn’t understand the importance of others but expects everyone to hold them in high regard, respect them and defer to them... why? They’re souls are empty and so they fill them with themselves - with pride.
Humility is knowing ones place or role and acting accordingly - think about it. If your role is to lead, then lead with love for others. If your role is parent, than you raise your children in the way they should go. Humility isn’t the same as authority, it’s about the responsibilities we have as humans and followers of Christ. God gives us authority for a reason - but teaches us to walk in that authority with compassion and a servants heart - putting others first just as Christ did.
