God Speaks

“And he said, “Go out and stand on the mount before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore the mountains and broke in pieces the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. And after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire the sound of a low whisper.” 1 Kings‬ ‭19:11-12‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Why do we need to listen for the whispering voice of God? Why doesn’t God make it easier to hear Him? Because He wants to be close and intimate with us, just as He was with Elijah.

What’s more, when You hear from Him, it’s only for YOU! Not someone else, you. We tend to listen more intentionally to a whisper too. Sometimes He whispers from the page in our Bible, or in a song, or in our spirits - or the rare audible voice. It’s a lot more effective than yelling, right?

I know I don’t hear from Him this way very often, so it’s a big deal when I do! When was the last time you heard from Him? What did He say? How did He say it?
