Everywhere we look we are reminded to love ourselves, to treat ourselves, to take care of ourselves... and we should. But not for selfish “I deserve it!” kind of reasons. We should take care of ourselves to glorify God, who gave us this life and influence.
That’s right - influence. Every one of us has influence with someone somewhere. They listen to what we say and pay attention to how we respond to situations and others - especially joe we respond to them. Are you out to build yourself up and get all you can squeeze out of the world, or are you walking with Christ and listening to the leading of the Holy Spirit? People can tell and they are watching - but most importantly, God our Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are watching and trying to help us to do the work they created us for.
