Discipline to Be a Disciple

Jesus didn’t commission us to get people saved - yes, spreading the Gospel and saving the list is really important - but what happens after that? Discipleship is the work - it simply means to discipline oneself to follow Christ and all that He taught. It isn’t something that is automatic, you have to work at it...and then work some more.

“Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”” Matthew‬ ‭28:18-20‬ ‭

Discipleship is why I pray, why I study, why I worship and why I write. My devotion to my Faithful Lord is my “why.” When I let this get clouded, everything else gets clouded too - and I lose focus and direction. I need the discipline of discipleship.
