How often do you miss God? I do it all the time. But, like the good dad who gently tosses the ball to make it easier and easier to catch, He keeps trying. I’m not sure who wrote this prayer - I’m praying and posting it anyway.
I need God to direct my paths and order my steps, I need: “And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.” (Isaiah 30:21).
I need patience to wait on God’s perfect timing. We all think we know what’s best for us and what we need, but as I look back and see what the Lord has done, I realize that I wasn’t as smart as I thought I was... When we rush the process or take matters into our own hands, we stunt our own growth and delay our rewards.
I need faith to endure daily life on planet earth. We are constantly bombarded with doubt, temptation and sin. We cannot possibly get through it without faith in God who has power and authority over it all.
I need God to give me a gift of knowledge and discernment to recognize Him and His work in and around me. And, when I do, I will praise His Name and worship Him!
