“No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:39
No power - not even our own! This means that nothing, including my sin, my mistakes, or my weaknesses, have the power to effect Gods infinite and unconditional love for me. I’m simply not powerful enough to do that. Neither are you.
How many times do we still find ourselves trying to earn this love? How many times do we believe we’ve damaged it? The truth is, we damage our love for ourselves and others, and we punish ourselves. We need to use this energy to love - love those we’ve sinned against, love those we’ve hurt and love ourselves in spite of our weaknesses. Then, if we can fix the situation, we do it and we try to do better next time. This is Christian life.
