As I grow older, I’m able to look back and see how God answered my prayers in ways only He could. I’m also able to see times when I had drifted away from prayer and how that affected me - my attitudes, actions and abilities. I can see the fragility of my own heart. You’ve heard it before - you were created on purpose for a purpose - but do you pursue God’s purpose in your life? We all have a path that God prepared and things to do along the way that He has orchestrated, but we choose whether we lift up our eyes from our own lives and concerns to notice them. Sometimes it seems like we’re all so consumed with creating comfort for ourselves that we forget that, although it’s nice and it may be a blessing from God, that is not our purpose.

I challenge to take a minute and think about this. Jesus saves, we don’t. I don’t think we really misunderstand this, however I think we can get so focused on trying to rescue people and convince them to pray the sinners prayer, that we lose sight of our calling. We are called to serve one another. Not just other believers, but those who aren’t. Especially the marginalized, the outcast and the unloved - that’s what Jesus did. We can’t stop Gods purposes and plans, we don’t have that much power. However you can choose not to fulfill Gods purpose and plan for your own self - you can choose an easier path.
